He did it! Our September Patient of the Month, Graham Pearson, just completed 21 Half Marathons in 2017! Here is his story:

Graham’s Story:

ALL FINISHED, ALL 21 DONE !!!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to visit my fundraising page and supporting my 21 Half Marathon Challenge. I’ve completed a number half marathons over the years for the personal challenge, but this time I’ve tried to make a difference by running for a cause that is close to my heart…..

THE CAUSE: The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, the principal fundraising body of the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, working with the community to improve the quality of life for seriously ill children, both now and in the future.

THE CHALLENGE: Complete 21 half marathon events by the end of 2017. That’s one every 2 to 3 weeks. My programme included local events, but also a number of road and trail events around the country and  a few overseas races to keep my motivation going.

THE PARTICIPANT: Just me and my trusty running shoes – three pairs , actually !

From Our Physio Bonnie:”Graham has been going to Bend + Mend for all of his Physiotherapy needs on and off since 2006. Graham is a fun, hard-working, driven person who always aims high. He has always been committed to making sure he follows Physio’s advice and does his home exercises. His motivation led him to set a goal for 2017, which was to run 21 half marathons to raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation! The Sydney Running Festival’s Half Marathon marks the culmination of that goal. His target was to raise $30,000 and he has now surpassed that target. He has conquered a mammoth challenge and we congratulate him on all of his incredible achievements.”
