Patient Of The Month For March

By February 28, 2017February 13th, 2019Physiotherapy

Our Patient of the month for March is Katherine Gobbi who is about to take on a challenge in Nepal.

From Katherine: “Thank you Bonnie and Bend + Mend for being awarded Patient of the Month!

When I started with Bend + Mend I was reliably informed (by all of my friends) that my now long term tennis elbow was unlikely to be fixed… until I met Bonnie and she gave me a series of (let’s face it) the worlds least exciting exercises that ACTUALLY WORKED!  I surprised and amazed my other physio friends with my recovery, and my resumed ability to pour a glass of water from a heavy bottle (the thrill!).

Then Bonnie was patient and firm with me that my decision to commence long distance walking probably was somewhat out of my actual ability and that yes, I had knee pain, and that yes, it could be fixed and yes I could get strong enough to complete it safely and without pain.  And so she did.

Now the lovely Bonnie has helped me achieve my most recent (hair brained!) scheme to trek the 14 days to Everest Base Camp with a combination of exercises and Pilates, care, encouragement and close monitoring I couldn’t be more confident of success in my bucket list trip of a lifetime in Nepal.

Thanks Bonnie!  (and I’ll see you in April to fix the aftermath!)”

And from Bonnie: “Katherine is someone who does it all! Not only doe she have an intense work schedule but is a Physiotherapist’s dream of a compliant patient who aims high with her goals. After overcoming a couple of injuries, Katherine has recently got into Pilates to build strength and prevent injury as she trains for Mount Everest Base Camp Trek in March 2017. Her effort and motivation has paid off tremendously. Katherine has been a pleasure to work with and I wish her good luck!”
